    The USS Strong (DD-758) is an Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer, the second destroyer to be named for James H. Strong, a notable naval commander of Union forces during the American Civil War. The Strong was Built 1943 in San Francisco by the Bethlehem Steel Company for action in the Second World War.
