A Marine with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, bids farewell to his wife and children before he departs Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Jan. 24, 2015. The battalion is deploying to Europe to support the next iteration of Black Sea Rotational Force, a rotational deployment of Marine Corps and Navy personnel to the Black Sea, Balkan and Caucasus regions of Eastern Europe. Service members will participate in security cooperations, build military capacity, provide regional stability, and develop lasting partnerships with nations in the region.
