Sgt. Sloan Seiler, Winter Mountain Leaders Course 1-15, student, Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, requests permission to exit the freezing water during an Ice-Breaker Drill as part of WMLC 1-15 at Levitt Lake, MCMWTC, Bridgeport, Calif., Jan. 30, 2015. Each Marine slid into the water on the skis with the five gallon weighted pack and a pair of ski poles. Their objective was to get the pack out of the water and then swim to the edge where they would be tested on their mental endurance while under the strain of the freezing temperature of the water.
