John Crumpacker, mortar platoon leader, 2nd Bn., 8th Inf. Regt., during an award ceremony at Camp Wessam, May 23. Crumpacker was one of three Soldiers from the battalion whose vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device on a combat patrol in Basra, Iraq.
