U.S. Army Sgt. Michael York, a team leader with 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, issues a pair of vapor barrier boots to Cpl. Timothy Deijkers of the British Army at Fort Wainwright’s Central Issue Facility. Dejikers is a subject matter expert on technical rock climbing and mountaineering and will be joining Soldiers from 11 nations at the U.S. Army Alaska hosted Cold Region Military Mountaineering Collaborative Event at the Northern Warfare Training Center this week where participants will focus on what doctrine, operations and equipment work best in cold, mountainous environments.
