150207-N-ZZ999-904 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Feb. 07, 2015) – Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Eddie L. Lowery, from Lynnwood, Wash., is embraced by his shipmates after receiving the boatswain’s mate pipe during a ceremony in the fo’c'sle of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Lowery was chosen amongst his peers to receive retired Command Master Chief Jeff Alcott’s boatswain’s pipe during the time honored tradition. Alcott was Captain Grieco’s Command Master Chief from 2004-2006 when both were attached to SEACONTROL Squadron TWO FOUR in Jacksonville, Fla. They deployed together on TR during the 2005-2006 deployment. Theodore Roosevelt is underway training for their upcoming scheduled deployment.
