Col. Paul H. Maubert retired from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, April 30, at Forward Operating Base Delaram in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. In his remarks, Maubert reminisced about and thanked the outstanding Marines who had been most influential in his career, from the World War II Marine who was his rifle coach at summer camp to the staff non-commissioned officers and officers who most influenced his command philosophy. The city of Delaram is in the background.
