The visit to the 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) forward command post on Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, was part of Dunwoody's visit of all major logistics commands in the Middle East. Dunwoody, the first female four star general in the military, commanded the 1st Corps Support Command at Fort Bragg, N.C., from July 2000 to July 2002 before it was redesignated as the 1st Sustainment Command (Theater).
