Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher Bittner, aviation boatswain's mate (handling), signals an operator to lower elevator four to the hangar bay aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan during a replenishment at sea. A RAS provides ships out to sea with the ability to receive supplies such as food, fuel and munitions without having to pull into port for long periods of time. Ronald Reagan is underway on a routine deployment to the Western Pacific.
