SOUTH CHINA SEA (Feb. 22, 2015) Lt. j.g. Lawrence Brazin, a helicopter control officer for LCS Crew 103, communicates with the bridge of the littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) from the helicopter control tower as an MQ-8B Fire Scout unmanned aircraft system from Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 35 Detachment 2, takes off from the flight deck of Fort Worth during flight operations. Currently on a 16-month rotational deployment in support of the Asia-Pacific Rebalance, Fort Worth is a fast and agile warship tailor-made to patrol the region’s littorals and work hull-to-hull with partner navies, providing 7th Fleet with the flexible capabilities it needs now and in the future.
