The view of the beaches of Normandy through the barbed-wire fence that lie atop of Pointe-du-Hoc on June 5. On D-Day the 2nd Ranger Battalion scaled the sheer cliffs to take out the German casemate that watches over the coast. Today the site has a granite memorial to honor the 2nd Ranger Battalion and their heroic assault.
