Crews aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Waesche pull and stow the ship's brow shortly after getting underway, Jan. 22, 2015, to patrol the Eastern Pacific. Cutters like Waesche routinely patrol the waters from South America to the Bering Sea, far off shore, conducting alien migrant interdiction operations, domestic fisheries protection, search and rescue, counter narcotics and other essential missions.
