Sgt. 1st Class Jason Whitmore points in the direction of the threat June 3. The Soldiers were convoying back to Combat Outpost Cashe South, Baghdad, when they were stopped by Iraqi police, who spotted an improvised explosive device. The Soldiers contacted Explosive Ordnance Disposal, then dismounted and pulled security while waiting half an hour for EOD to arrive and neutralize the situation. Whitmore directed his Soldiers to keep an eye on all windows in the event of an insurgent attempting to detonate the IED by remote.
