Brig. Gen. James Blackburn, commander, Task Force Marne, 3rd Infantry Division, addresses more than 200 Soldiers and family members new to the installation during the newly designed Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Air Field and 3rd Infantry Division Newcomers Fair, held here at Club Stewart, March 4. The Newcomers fair is an event where both Soldiers and family members get to meet and hear from division and garrison command leadership, meet with their gaining units Family Readiness Group leaders, and meet with representatives of all the major directorate and Soldier and family services, all in one location. This Newcomers Fair is a change in the way the Marne Reception Center process works. In fact there have been many changes made to the MRC process recently, which has allowed the MRC and the 3rd ID to more effectively provide a valuable service for all newcomers to Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Air Field.
