Officers of the New York National Guard's 1st Battalion 69th Infantry drink the traditional Irish Whiskey toast which kicks of the battalion's St. Patrick's Day festivities at 0600. The toast in the battalion commander's office is one of the traditions followed by the "Fighting 69th" which has led the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade each year since 1851.
