Providing the finishing touches to a final product, assisted by Jovie Romero, is just one part of Dental Assistant August S. Cerera's duties at Naval Hospital Bremerton's Branch Health Clinic Bangor Dental Clinic. Cerera is recognized clinic-wide as a standout performer in his role as a dental assistant handling such responsibilities as patient scheduling, ordering supplies, instrument prepping, operating cleanliness, equipment maintenance and sterilization, and providing necessary hands-on support to his provider. One of Cerera’s goals as a dental assistant is to make sure that when a Sailor or Marine comes in for the screening that they get properly assessed and make sure that if they have any immediate or emergency dental needs, that they get taken care of in a timely manner such as dealing with an abscessed (infected) tooth or tooth decay (cavity) or providing a needed crown on a tooth as in this case.
