Daily maintenance and repair of the tactical vehicles is the mission Cpl. Patrick L. Harper came to Al Asad Air Base, Iraq to accomplish. Harper, a mechanic with Maintenance Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 7, 1st Marine Logistics Group, works on repairing the alternator of a humvee March 31, 2006. A native of Augusta, Ga., Harper, 21, just changed the power steering pump on the tactical vehicle before moving on to the alternator. Aside from their primary mission to provide logistical support to Marine and Iraqi forces in places like Ramadi, Hadithah, and Al Qaim, the battalion is also training Iraqi soldiers to carry out their own logistics operations.
