Marines with 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division load an MK-154 Mine Clearance Rocket onto an Assault Amphibious Vehicle during a course, training on how to properly install the MK-154 kit to the AAV aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., March 9, 2015. The MK-154 is a linear charge that, when launched, lays down a string of C-4 that is then detonated in order to clear a path through a mine field. Equipping AAVs with the MK-154 kit gives the battalion the ability to clear minefields during ship-to-shore operations, providing a clear path for follow on troops to reach a land based objective. .
