1st Lt. Reed Petfray of C Company, 502 Parachute Infantry Regiment and seven year old Alex Gaborit, the grandson of Petfray, French host, attend the Airborne Ceremony at the Airborne Museum, in Ste Mere Eglise, France, on June 6. Petfray was a pathfinder and one of the first officers to land in Normandy on the night, of June 5, 1944. Petfray's hometown is the city of Toccoa, Georgia. Toccoa was the home of Camp Toccoa, a WWII parachute training base and the home of Easy Company depicted in the HBO miniseries, Band of Brothers.
