Educators and members of the media from Western New York and Pennsylvania observe recruits problem solve during the 12 stalls segment of the Crucible, during the 2015 Educators Workshop aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, Feb. 26. The Crucible is a 54-hour culminating exercise designed to test Marine recruits in endurance, leadership and tactical thinking. Marine Corps Recruiting Station Buffalo invited journalists, high school teachers, coaches and counselors to see first-hand how their former students make the transformation from civilian to United States Marine during the three day workshop.
