Billy Haas, a field radio operator with CLB 24, 24th MEU, facing CLB 24 commanding officer Lt.Col. Matthew Dumenigo, received the award for his outstanding performance during his 2012 deployment with the 24th MEU. The 24th MEU is currently embarked on the ships of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
