PACIFIC OCEAN (March 26, 2015) A landing craft air cushion (LCAC) departs the well deck of Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during an exercise. Essex is underway participating in a Composite Unit Training Exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), which is comprised of Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) THREE and 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).
