Class begins at an Afghanistan National Army (ANA) fuel depot. On the left are various old Russian fuel trucks, on the right is a new tactical fuel delivery truck provided by the United States. In the background are the remains of Russian tanks and fuel trucks. The neighborhood has no electricty, running water or sewage system. Leading the training class is Master Sgt. Lawrence A. Marquez, deployed to the 755th Expeditionary Mission Support Group, Detachment 2, Camp Eggers, Kabul, Afghanistan, as an Embedded Training Team (ETT). They are fulfilling an U.S. Army request for forces in support of an Office of Security Cooperation-Afghanistan (OSC-A) mission to advise, train and mentor Afghanistan National Army personnel on the U.S. Army logistics standard and methods. The mentoring will allow the ANA to operate safely and prepare for future missions. OSC-A in its partnership with the Government of Afghanistan and the International Community plan, program, and implement reform in Defense Sectors, develop a stable Afghanistan, and deter and defeat terrorism within its borders.
