A local woman pulls her new trash container into her gate, July 1, in Basra. Approximately 12,000 trash cans were distributed that day with 350,000 to be delivered in the near future. The city also plans to provide regular trash collection services to its residents to prevent trash from clogging neighborhoods and piling alongside roads.
