Airmen from Minot Air Force Base, N.D., prepare an AGM-86B Air-Launched Cruise Missile for a Nuclear Weapons System Evaluation program test flight. B-52 crews from Minot recently conducted three WSEP program test flights, with each launching an unarmed ALCM from a B-52H Stratofortress over the Utah Test and Training Range. WSEPs help loaders and aircrew determine how effective a weapon is. The launch was part of an end-to-end operational evaluation for the crew's ability to pull an ALCM from storage, load it aboard an aircraft, execute a simulated combat mission tasking and successfully deliver the weapon from the aircraft to its final target.
