150402-N-EI558-015 NAVAL AIR FACILITY ATSUGI, Japan (April 2, 2015) – Aviation Boatswains Mate (Handling) 3rd Class ‘Tractor King' Houari Oulis, of USS George Washington (CVN 73) Air Department V3 Division, tests a Multi Aircraft Nose Tail Integrating System (MANTIS) Shipboard System Handler (SHH) Extra Low Profile (ELP) in the Helicopter Maritime Strike (HSM) Squadron 77 hanger. The MANTIS will be deployed aboard USS George Washington for the first time during the coming summer cruise. The system was created with the intent to be used in place of current on-board aircraft transportation, while underway, reducing environmental and health risks.
