On March 27, 2015, Fort Hunter Liggett held a ceremony to mark the transfer of 2.5 acres of land under and around the historic Tidball Store from the U.S. Army to the County of Monterey. Congressman Sam Farr, along with the County of Monterey and the San Antonio Valley Historical Association were the champions of getting the federal land transfered to the county in order to solve the access issue each time they had to do maintenance on the store.
