150404-N-JN652-134 JINHAE, Republic of Korea (April 4, 2015) Moral, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) employees from Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae (CFAC) sell traditional American foods, like pizza and hotdogs, to Korean residents and tourists when the base opened to the public as part of the Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival, April 4. The Jinhae Gunhangje, which translates as “Naval Port Festival”, was originally founded in 1963 to commemorate the Korean naval leader Adm. Yi. Over the last 53 years, it has evolved into a cultural celebration centered around the over 360,000 cherry trees that bloom each year on the Republic of Korea naval base and in the city of Jinhae.
