Maj. Trent A. Gibson, the executive officer of 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment and Medal of Honor recipient Cpl. Jason Dunham's former company commander, and Sgt. Mark Dean, one of Dunham's close friends, meticulously search through the pieces of Dunham's Kevlar helmet to find an appropriate piece to be forever encapsulated in the mast of the Navy destroyer that bears his name. Gibson and Dean delivered the helmet to the National Museum of the Marine Corps, July 9, to be put in a future display at the museum.
