Senior enlisted leaders participating in a classroom leadership lesson during the Coast Guard’s Chief Petty Officers’ Academy are seen through a decorative porthole window presented by an earlier class, that graduated in August 2005, Sept. 4, 2014. The window marks the continuity and responsibility between generations of leadership joining the Chief Petty Officers’ Corps at TRACEN Petaluma. The monthlong CPOA course helps prepare new Coast Guard chiefs for the increased responsibility they take on as members of the Chief Petty Officer Corps. Instruction is provided in work-life, wellness, human resource management, oral and written communications, career management, human relations and military customs and courtesies.
