U.S. Marines from the dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry and Royal Thai Marines load a simulated survivor on a Royal Thai Navy SH 60 Seahawk helicopter during a joint amphibious landing exercise. The Marines and Harpers Ferry are participating in Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training 2009 Thailand. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance the operational readiness of the participating forces.
