Sgt. 1st Class Juan Almonte, of New York City, a senior medic assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, tells a National Police medic how to properly apply a tourniquet during a combat medic training event, July 22, at Joint Security Station Loyalty, located in the 9 Nissan District of eastern Baghdad. With Iraqi security forces in charge of combat operations in urban areas, Almonte stressed the importance of these techniques in order for the ISF medics to assist personnel injured in combat.
