Patrol Explosive Detector Dog, Kobus, and Sgt. Holly Moore, 550th Military Working Dog Detachment, 16th Military Police Brigade, spend their final moments together before Kobus is euthanized to end his short battle with cancer, at Fort Bragg, N.C., March 11, 2015. Moore and Kobus began their partnership in 2013 on Valentine’s Day, serving on many law enforcement missions and one deployment to Afghanistan before Kobus passed suddenly from cancer, March 11, 2015. Two years’ worth of long hours by one another’s sides forged a strong, selfless and eternal connection. (Photo courtesy of Sgt. Holly Moore, 550th Military Working Dog Detachment)
