American and Iraqi aircrews prepare an Mi-171 helicopter for a night mission at Taji Air Base, near Baghdad, Iraq, July 12. The American aircrew is with the 721st Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron and assists the Iraqi air force with many functions, including night-vision goggle flights, a capability the Iraqis did not posses until nine months ago.
