Trucks of all sizes are driven by local civilian laborers as they wait to enter Basra's trash dump site July 23. The provincial government augmented its work force and hired contractors to assist in the massive task of cleaning up the province and transporting the trash to the dump site. Approximately 600 trucks empty their trash at the dump site four to six times a day since the project began July 11.
