Lieutenant General John A. Toolan (center), commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, speaks with Lieutenant Colonel Eric J. Dougherty (left), commanding officer, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, and Caption Rodney Malone (right), commanding officer, Combat Logistics Detachment 1, MRF-D, April 27 on the mission being established with the Australian Defence Force. Toolan explained how the relationship between ADF and the Corps can play an important part in making peace and becoming allies with other countries as well. MRF-D is the deployment of U.S. Marines to Darwin and the Northern Territory, for approximately six months at a time, where they will conduct exercises and training on a rotational basis with the ADF.
