SAN DIEGO (May 1, 2015) U.S. Marines assigned to 1st Tank Battalion of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms listen a deliver message from Maj. Peter Schnurr, acting commanding officer 1st Tank Battalion aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25). Somerset served as the platform for a-week long Lance Corporals Leadership and Ethics Seminar to ensure a better understanding of Marine Corps ethos, leadership fundamentals and the total Marine amphibious concept. The ninth San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, Somerset is named in honor of the crew and passengers of United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed near Shanksville, Pa., in Somerset County during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
