Soldiers of the 45th Sustainment Brigade transported military vehicles, DRASH tents, and other tactical equipment from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Oahu, to Kona International Airport on the Big Island May 1. The joint transport with the Air Force is part of a three-week long training exercise that will prepare troops for future missions in the Pacific region and other areas of the world. The transport was done with C-17 cargo planes and involved organizing and packing gear, attaching and adjusting equipment, and transporting the vehicles from the plane to Pohakuloa Training Area after download. The equipment is representative of what would be transferred in a real world deployment setting. (Photo by Sgt. Erin Sherwood, 45th Sust. Bde. Public Affairs)
