Corporal Dylan Hickam, a scout with Scout Sniper Platoon, Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment talks to Pfc. Nikolas Fike, a scout sniper candidate, with the platoon, about different ways to use vegetation in order to gain maximum concealment during a stalking exercise conducted in the vicinity of SR-10 aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., April 22, 2015. Students had approximately two-and-a-half hours to stalk the instructors, establish a firing position, and fire two shots without being detected by instructors, who were observing the area through high-powered optics. The stalking exercise was one of many conducted by Marines attending the Scout Sniper Basic Preparation Course with 2nd Bn., 2nd Marines, over the course of two weeks during the month of April.
