150502-N-SU274-013 CHARLESTOWN, Mass. (May 2, 2015) Sailors assigned to USS Constitution perform a color guard aboard the decommissioned Fletcher-class destroyer USS Cassin Young (DD 793) in Charlestown Navy Yard during a memorial service for the 70th anniversary of the sinking of the patrol boat USS Eagle (PE 56) on April 23, 1945 and the Sprague Steamship Line coal collier SS Black Point on May 5, 1945. A total of 61 U.S. Navy and Merchant Marine crew members were killed in action aboard the ships, which were both torpedoed by German submarine U-853 near the conclusion of the Battle of the Atlantic during World War II.
