Second Lt. Jiaru Bryar is a military technician holding dual roles as a commissioned officer and as a civilian in the Army Reserve. During Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month 2015, Bryar shared her story discussing her journey as a child from Chang Chun city, in the Ji Lin province, located in northeastern People’s Republic of China to becoming an Army Reserve officer based in Chicago, Illinois.
