    Command Sgt. Maj. Mark Lindsey, the senior most noncommissioned officer for the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Col. Jimmy Blackmon, commander, 159th CAB, and retired Col. Bob Freeman, the honorary colonel of the brigade, case the Thunder Brigade's colors for the final time during an inactivation ceremony at the division parade field on Fort Campbell, Ky., May 7, 2015. The ceremony also included the casing of all its subordinate battalion colors and company guidons. The brigade's lineage dates back to the Vietnam War, but its most active role was in the Global War on Terrorism where it supported operations in Afghanistan and Iraq six times since 2002.
