Cpl. Adam Brame, a crew chief with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169 "Vipers," Marine Aircraft Group 40, Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan, cold-fuels a UH-1N Huey at the forward air refueling point on Bastion Air Field here July 6. Aircraft can be fueled by two methods; cold fuel, which uses gravity to push the fuel into the fuel tank in a similar fashion as any gas pump used for cars; and hot fuel, which is a pressurized system that allows aircraft to receive fuel in a quicker time frame. The fueling process used is determined based on operational commitments. This Huey was not scheduled for a flight, so a longer fueling process was acceptable.
