Diane Siebrandt, an archeologist and cultural heritage officer at the United States Embassy Baghdad, takes down information regarding the damage to the ancient Assyrian capital of Ashur caused by the Tigris River from Mr. Mahmoud Abu Muhanad Abid, the Ashur site director, and former site director Dr. Mohammed Ajaj Jorji. The visit allowed Seibrandt to view and document the condition of the site in order to write a proposal to receive funding to continue preserving the city, July 26, 2009.
