First Lt. Daniel J. Runzheimer (right), the Weapons Platoon commander with 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, presents an enlarged copy of Lance Cpl. Jordan C. Haerter's Navy Cross citation signed by the Marines of 1/9 who served with his son to Christian Haerter, Jordan's father. Marines of 1/9 traveled to Sag Harbor, N.Y., to participate in the Second Annual Soldier Ride – The Hamptons, July 25, which was dedicated this year to the memory of Jordan to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.
