Poorbaugh became the first Marine in 40 years to commission from the school. Poorbaugh is a Mackinaw, Ill., native, and graduated with a degree in Political Science from the College of General Studies. Williams administered the oath of office and is the Eastern Recruiting Region and Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island commanding general. Garcia is the Assistant Secretary of The Navy. Awn is the Columbia University School of General Studies Dean.
