The 1st Battalion, 112th Infantry, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, welcomed 39 new sergeants to the non-commissioned officer ranks during an NCO induction ceremony Aug. 16 at the Sgt. Jon M. Schoolcraft Pavillion, here. The recently-promoted sergeants were presented a copy of the Creed of the NCO. Command Sgt. Maj. Rory Malloy, 1st Cavalry Division sergeant major, told the new NCOs their responsibility is twofold: take care of Soldiers and accomplish the mission. "We are expected to accomplish both," he said. "Failure to accomplish either fails to accomplish both."
