U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 23, 2015) – Fire Controlmen 1st Class Kalireyna Streeby and Fire Controlmen 1st Class Timothy Courtwright read over firing guidelines during a live fire exercise aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60). Normandy is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
