GULF OF ADEN (May 27, 2015) – A Marine with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) jumps from a CH-53 Super Stallion attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 365 (Reinforced) during combat rubber raiding craft operations. Iwo Jima is the flagship for the Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 24th MEU, provides a versatile sea-based, expeditionary force that can be tailored to a variety of missions in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
