The first MV-22B Osprey from Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron-22 arrives from Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., to the unit’s new home at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., Tuesday, June 2, 2015. The squadron’s mission revolves around experimental testing of fixed, tilt-rotor and rotary-wing aircraft, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and Marine Air Command and Control Systems (MACCS). Coming to MCAS Yuma puts VMX-22 in close proximity to Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron-1, which will allow the squadron to further develop tactics, techniques and procedures for use in the fleet.
